The Okrug Governor’s
press-service informs:
Governor of Ugra Natalia
Komarova participated in the meeting of the Headquarters for the
prevention of infectious diseases distribution in the Urals Federal
District.
In her report the head of the
region told about measures, undertaken in the Autonomous Okrug to
control tuberculosis and HIV infection. She said that the situation in
this sphere “critical” and said that regarding the indicator of HIV
infected people the Okrug is among problem regions of the Russian
Federation.
In the Okrug there is a register
of HIV infected people, monitoring of dispensary observation coverage,
treatment and also early diagnosis of relevant diseases. Safety of
donors’ material is provided, there is a complex of events to prevent
contamination of children to be born from HIV infected women. There
are five projects to be implemented in the frames of the program
“Development of the treatment strategy of the population – vulnerable
for HIV-AIDS in the Russian Federation”, and also the
Russian-American educational project “Mother and Child”. Great
attention is paid to the work with patients who suffer from
drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis.
These and other measures made it
possible to increase the people coverage by screening for
HIV-infection and by dispensary observation, to reduce the indicator
of perinatal contamination and also sickness rate and mortality rate
from tuberculosis. Altogether the undertaken measures are not enough.
In Governor’s opinion today the
Okrug needs in the change of the strategy and tactics of preventive
work. “We should be involved in the search for new ways to control
HIV-infection and tuberculosis, development of non-standard
organizational decisions, taking into account the positive experience
of other regions”, - emphasized Natalia Komarova.
