The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

The practice of videosurveillance of streets and roads in Ugra will be continued. That topic was discussed at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on prevention of violations in the Autonomous Okrug. The meeting was chaired by First Vice Governor of the region IlyaPetrov.

The system of video surveillance makes it possible for the militia  to monitor the observance of the order in a residential sector, streets and roads of the Okrug. The most successful experience is observed in Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk.

Today at Ugra municipalities 605 video cameras are installed. 272 of them monitor the roads and 333 cameras – public places. In experts’ opinion the practice of video surveillance is effective  for the prevention and detection of crimes. Besides, the system is recouped at the expense of fines to be paid to local budgets. IlyaPetrov emphasized that such work would be continued and the number of video cameras would increase in towns. Moreover, it is necessary to thin over mechanisms of the video systems location at riser blocks of flats as well. In accordance with the decision of the Commission it was given a task to submit proposals   about the dissemination of this practice in all the municipalities of Ugrain  a month.

Issues of rehabilitation of people who emerged from jail, were also discussed at the meeting. The main problem to be faced by ex-convicts is the absence of a passport and place of residence. In 2009 over 200 people emerged from jail without documents.

To prevent repetitive crimes relevant departments and NGO are given a task to make rules of procedure about interaction in  providingex-convicts with social rehabilitation , medical and other aid.

“To solve this problem it is necessary to turn social centers into centers of all structures interaction to accumulate the data about convicts. Then it will be simpler to help  citizens of this category in employment, medical treatment, adaptation”, - said Fist Vice Governor.

At the meeting there were also made decisions about other things concerning the involvement of NGOs to the legal order protection in the municipalities, counteraction of dissemination of alcohol and drugs in Ugra.
