Governor’s press-service informs:
Governor
of Ugra Natalia Komarova had a meeting with participants of the VI
International Finno-Ugric Peoples’ Crafts Festival “Ugra-2010”.
The head of
the region viewed with interest the exhibitions of creative
laboratories, got acquainted with craftsmen and works of art. “Ugra
people and guests of the Autonomous Okrug have admired your works for
many years. Looking at them they remember our region. In each work
there is an author’s talent, labor, outlook, heart”, - said Natalia
Komarova.
At
the opening ceremony of the scientific and practical conference “From
Craft to Art” Governor of Ugra said that the goals on the
preservation and research of the Northern peoples’ culture were
“common”. In her opinion, the work has been done in this regard. At
the recent meeting of the Autonomous Okrug Government it was made a
decision to expand grants support for the projects, aimed at reviving
the indigenous peoples’ folklore, traditions and economic activities.
This measure will give an additional impulse to the development of
national creativity, will make it possible to publish more
children’s, educational and fiction literature in the Finno-Ugric
languages.
At the event
there were announced 5 most talented craftsmen of the Okrug. They got
Ugra Governor’s prizes. “Assessing your work I can say with confidence
that the preservation of unique ethnic environment is in reliable
hands”, - said Natalia Komarova. “I think that everyone will agree
that folk crafts are an inexhaustible source of creativity, it keeps
historic memory and the traditions to be passed on from one
generation to another as family values”.
