Governor’s press-service informs:
Governor of Ugra Natalia
Komarova participated in the expedition “Slavonic Procession-2010”
which takes place in populated localities, located along the banks of
the Ob and Irtysh.
The Tobolsk and Tyumen Eparchy
organized the educational expeditions for the seventh time to be
aimed at spiritual and moral bringing up, strengthening Orthodox
traditions in remote localities of northern regions.
The steamer “Mechanic
Kalashnikov” gathered children from towns and villages of the southern
part of the Tyumen Region, autonomous okrugs, children of Sunday
schools, Orthodox gymnasiums, theological seminary, clergymen of the
Eparchies of Tobolsk-Tyumen, Kurgan, Yekaterinburg. The route of the
expedition comes from Tobolsk to the towns of Ugra.
While the expedition Governor of
Ugra Natalia Komarova and Archbishop of Tobolsk and Tyumen Dimitri
discussed with young participants of the “Slavonic Procession” their
vision of life values and prospects of the region’s future.
The head of the Okrug and
Archbishop discussed issues of youth’s bringing up, new forms of
children’s communication with the Orthodox culture, contribution of
the school into moral bringing up of children. “Today the role of a
teacher, especially teachers of humanitarian subjects, is great in a
younger generation’s communication with spiritual and moral values.
Largely using the potential of these subjects, teachers of Literature,
History can form a spiritual environment where a personality of a
future citizen is developing”, - said Natalia Komarova. The head of
the region paid attention to the necessity of the development of
contemporary forms of the work with the youth including at school. In
her opinion, these goals should be taken into account while the
implementation of the program “New school of Ugra”.
